You’re invited to an outdoor Land Social at Pure Pastures Regenerative Farm in Rose Prairie, B.C. (near Fort St John). If you’re curious about what land matching and sharing is all about and interested in learning more about the farm, join us for the event!
Be inspired and learn about the incredible regenerative farming that can be done in a farm coop! Pure Pastures Regenerative Farm is looking for like minded farmers to join their new regenerative farm coop and operate their own farm enterprise in a cooperative setting.
We’ll tour Pure Pastures Regenerative Farm and their cattle and farm operation, discuss this unique land opportunity, network, and look at the steps to building a successful land sharing relationship. Your regional Land Matcher will share information about how the B.C. Land Matching can help you find the perfect farmer for your land – or farmland where you can build your dream farm business.
Land Socials connect farmers and farmland holders, and set them up to receive ongoing support through the B.C. Land Matching Program. Both farmers seeking land and farmland holders thinking about sharing land are encouraged to attend – as well as anyone who loves food, farming, and getting out onto the land.
Pure Pastures Regenerative Farm has a land opportunity listed with the B.C. ABOUT PURE PASTURES REGENERATIVE FARM
New farm co-operative in beautiful Fort St John, the Peace River region of BC, currently running cattle, harvesting forages and grain, is looking to expand in a coop setting! Pure Pastures Regenerative Farm (PPRF) is an operating 2,000 + acre ranch that is looking to integrate other farming folks and agriculture businesses. Small livestock, agritourism, and market gardening are just a few ideas of farm businesses that would be welcomed at the coop.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
While the ranch is undergoing changes, the land holders are very excited to be starting a farm cooperative for farmers with a similar vision and goal with the development of the coop. Regenerative practices, adapting agriculture practices to our changing climate, and thinking outside the box are a few key points that must align in the vision of PPRF. More than just farming practices, the core values of the farm being community building and support.
Housing on the ranch could be made available but temporary housing (travel trailer, tiny home, etc.) would be welcome as well!
The ideal candidate for this land opportunity is someone who aligns with the above mentioned visions, and is willing to work cooperatively with other like minded, farm enthusiastic folks. While pasture for grazing cattle is not available with this land opportunity, other small livestock (goats, sheep, hogs, poultry), agritourism, and market gardening are all welcomed ideas! The size of the land opportunity that would be made available would depend on the nature of the farming business. Interested candidates must show some business planning prep or be willing to work towards building a business plan. The BC Land Matching Program can provide support in business planning.
The landholders have a true passion for farming, regenerative agriculture and building a community of like-minded farming folk in the Peace River of BC.
This land opportunity is part of the B.C. Land Matching Program. If you are interested in this land opportunity, please contact morgan@youngagrarians.org.
