Posted by Lourdes Still on June 17, 2025

You’re invited to two farm tours at Jonathan’s Farm and Hnatiuk Market Gardens near Winnipeg, Manitoba! Both of these farms are committed to growing food with care for the land, the community, and future generations. Whether you’re dreaming about starting your own farm, looking to expand your knowledge, or simply want to support local food, these tours are a great place to start.

👩‍🌾 Jonathan’s Farm is a well-loved vegetable CSA just outside of Winnipeg, where Jonathan Stevens and his team grow organic veggies for their CSA each season. They focus on soil health, sustainability, and building a strong local food economy.

🌸 Hnatiuk Market Gardens is rooted in intergenerational learning and ecological resilience. Graham, who plans, curates and oversees their CSA program and farmer’s market is an ecologist, bringing a nature-focused approach to the farm and is always testing new growing methods in their no-till test plot.

ABOUT Hnatiuk Market Gardens

Hnatiuk Gardens is a generational market gardening farm in East St. Paul, Manitoba, just 10km northeast of Winnipeg.

They believe farming can and needs to be innovative to meet the challenges of the 21st century and looming environmental issues. They believe small community-based farms can play a large role in the broken food system, keeping food sources close by, locally owned, environmentally friendly, chemical-free, diverse, fresh, and affordable.

Currently they grow over 40 varieties of vegetables and fruits for their CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) program, and Farmer’s Market. All of the produce is grown without the use of synthetic chemical herbicides or pesticides.
