The National Farmers Union in Manitoba (Region 5) is seeking a Regional Organizer!
If you have skills in administration, putting on events and policy work and want to use your skills to work towards a just and sustainable future for Manitoban farmers this role is for you!
The National Farmers Union is a farmer-led, democratically-directed farm organization representing Canadian farmers and farm workers, and advocating on issues of importance to us. NFU members believe that the problems facing farmers are common problems and that farmers producing diverse products must work together to advance effective solutions. The NFU works toward economic, social, and environmental policies that promote economically and environmentally sustainable farms and strong farming communities.
The National Farmers Union Manitoba Organizer will be a key member of the Region 5 (MB) team. Welcoming calls to new members and maintaining consistency with past union members will be key. You can expect to attend events with an NFU information booth, make some farm visits, coordinate a few events, and provide outreach. The Region 5 Organizer will support and learn from long time NFU members how to advance farm policies decided by our membership.
The NFU Region 5 Organizer is a 6 month part time contract position with the possibility of extension pending funding and work performance.
