We undertake various initiatives and programs designed to champion organic farming practices and facilitate education and networking opportunities for our members and the wider agriculture community.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Coordinate and Facilitate Event Execution: Supervise logistical aspects of in-person field tours, workshops, and events, overseeing scheduling, vendor coordination, and participant registration.
- Speaker Coordination: Manage speakers or presenters for events, ensuring seamless scheduling and fulfillment of requirements for a smooth experience.
- Develop Event Plans and Timelines: Collaborate within a team to construct comprehensive event plans outlining timelines, tasks, and responsibilities, ensuring strict adherence to budgets and deadlines.
- Content Creation and Marketing: Communicate content creation and marketing strategies to the communications team.
- Evaluate and Enhance Programs: Conduct post-event evaluations and surveys with participants, assess program success and highlight areas for improvement to implement at future events.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of participants and event details, compiling participant survey data for comprehensive reporting to the team and Board of Directors (BOD).
- Post-Event Analysis and Reporting: Prepare thorough reports outlining event outcomes, achievements, challenges, and essential metrics, presenting findings to staff and the BOD for review.
- Environmental Sustainability Integration: Implement eco-friendly strategies during events, including waste reduction, eco-practices, and partnerships with environmentally conscious vendors.
- Risk Management and Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and mitigate potential event risks, formulating contingency plans to swiftly address issues or emergencies.
- Digital Reorganization and File Management: Support the MOA staff in restructuring organizational files and digital assets.
REQUIREMENTS
- The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Event Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating events.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to supervise logistical aspects effectively, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and participant registration, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for managing speakers, collaborating within a team to develop event plans
- Project Management Abilities: Proficiency in developing comprehensive event plans and timelines, with a focus on adhering to budgets and deadlines.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment to construct event plans and strategies.
- Adaptability: Capability to adapt to changing circumstances and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

- Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and

JOB DETAILS
Term & hours: Full-time Summer Position (35 hours per week for 8 weeks). Position starts June 2024.
Wage: $18/hr
