Richards Family Farm and Livestock Ltd. is looking for an intern for the growing season of 2020. Come learn on a mixed farm using regenerative agriculture principles. We integrate cattle and grain enterprises using Holistic Management to create healthy people, land, and profits.
Intercropping, cover cropping, low-input conventional and organic grain production, AMP grazing, and perennial pasture management are all used on our farm.
Learn how to evaluate, monitor, and improve soil health and ecosystem function.
Concepts and ideas to improve production and profit will be looked at along with pasture design, crop rotation, and enterprise integration.
We also have a seed stock cattle enterprise using crossbreeding for heterosis and profitability and grass finish some of our cattle. Low stress cattle handling is also practiced.
We are currently involved in several studies and regenerative ag projects and well connected in our regenerative and HM community so there will be many networking and learning opportunities.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated, teachable, one who loves to learn, and is responsible. We are somewhat flexible on the timing and duration of your time here on the farm. A stipend and room and board will be provided.
