Indigenous Traditional Food Systems eModule

Communities ChooseWell’s Healthy Eating in Recreation Settings eCourse has recently added a module titled, “Indigenous Traditional Food Systems”.  More information on the Healthy Eating in Recreation Settings eCourse can be found here.

Module‌ ‌9: Indigenous‌ ‌Traditional‌ ‌Food‌ ‌Systems‌‌ is an accessible opportunity for people to learn‌ ‌from‌ ‌Elders‌ ‌and‌ ‌Indigenous‌ ‌communities‌ across Alberta. In this online module, you will find out the importance of returning to a Traditional Food System, how communities are returning to it, and what role you can play in supporting Traditional Food Systems.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this module, you will be able to…

  • Describe the elements of Indigenous Traditional Food Systems
  • Explain why the return to Traditional Food Systems is important
  • Describe how Albertan communities are returning to Traditional Food Systems
  • Identify what role you and your team play in supporting a return to Indigenous Traditional Food Systems
