Our little farm in Coombs is looking for a young woman who is particularly interested in herbs as well as food farming. This person might want to develop their own herb business and looking to grow their skills in that area or take the current business to a new level. We grow quite a bit of our own food as well so a successful woman would be involved in the cycle of gardening, greenhouse development, and perhaps goat or other animal maintenance.
The farm sells herbs and some produce at the Errington Farmers’ Market and the young agrarian woman will probably be part of this endeavour. As well as preparing for markets, we also do seeds for the Seedy events on mid Vancouver Island. A small cabin and food, plus options to earn cash at the markets would mean a simple, hopefully satisfying, life on the farm. We are in the centre of a thriving tourism district with lots and lots to see and do. The amount of time that would be expected on farm work would be variable, but there would be time for other activities since there is more to life than work! (A really big library here on the farm and our own private trail system along the French Creek are two features).
