3. Kootenay Young Agrarians Potluck – Creston Valley

When: Saturday, February 21, 5pm-9pm

Where: Snoring Sasquatch, 221-11th Avenue North, Creston BC

Last time we got together at the Snoring Sasquatch, more than 60 people braved winter roads to share some good agrarian company. We warmed the cozy space right up and all kinds of beautiful connections were made. If we remember right, an orphan lamb found a loving home that night!

This time around, we want to focus conversation on how Kootenay YA-types can support each other over the season ahead. Need a barn raised? Want to see shared input purchasing start to happen? Hoping to up your business game? This will be a chance to plan events and re-imagine what YA can do to help grow Kootenay farmers and farmer friends.

Bring a dish to share and your wildest dreams of a vibrant young farmer network!

  1. I got the VV too late for the Feb 12 Vallican land link event, but would like to know more about the Slocan Valley situation. I work some 6000 sq.ft. of beautiful fertile soil on someone else’s land, there is almost 2 acres not being used. Are there gardeners seriously looking for space? Is there any kind of suggested contract? I will pass the info to the landowner, who is busy working away. Thanks, Lesley
