Paynter’s Fruit Market in Westbank, BC is seeking full-time and part-time Farm Crew Members for the 2021 season!
ABOUT Paynter’s Fruit Market
We have 15 acres garden and 15 acres orchard. Some of our produce in the garden include, cucumbers, zucchini, salad mix, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, sweet and hot peppers, yellow watermelon, musk melons, kale, herbs and much more.
Our orchard includes peaches, apples, pears, plums and apricots. Our farm team harvests everything by hand every morning and bring it directly to our fruit stand located on the farm.
We value supporting our community and our community supports us! Our perspective is to focus on the bigger picture, “Why are we doing this?” We value sustainability, longevity of agriculture and health of our community! We not only provide the fruit stand with our own grown veggies and fruit, but we are also able to support local farmers. Keeping agriculture growing and thriving.
DESIRED QUALITIES
- You should be eager to learn with a positive attitude, team player, physically fit and are able to lift and carry 40lbs. Can work in all weather conditions and work well with others in a team environment.
- Someone that is flexible and willing to adapt to the diversity of tasks we offer.
- Experience is not necessary but a bonus.
- Must have a full drivers license
- Must not be in full time school
JOB TASKS
We are looking for someone who is excited to learn a variety of tasks in the orchard and in the vegetable garden. Our team is responsible for transplanting over 40,000 plants, harvesting, washing/packaging, fall garden clean up, thinning orchard and fruit picking.
JOB DETAILS
Term: Position in the early spring to Late fall. Starting dates are flexible but needs to commit to end of the season. Must commit until Nov 15th 2021
Hours per week: We have part time and full time positions. 20-40 hours per week.
Wage: Depending on experience.
