The BX Press Cidery in Vernon, BC is seeking Apple Pickers!
ABOUT The BX Press Cidery
We are a third generation, 35 acre apple orchard, with a ciderhouse that has been operating since 2013. We grow close to 30 varieties of apples including heirloom and bittersweet cider varieties, via a mixture of densities from large standard trees to high-density trellis plantings.
Our farm is in it’s first year of transitional organic production, through PACS certification.
We are seeking a couple (or a couple of friends) who are not scared of physical, outdoors work as picking apples is very demanding physically and requires a strong back. Being self-motivated to earn by piecework rates, and efficient at repetitive tasks is important in a successful apple picker. As a small family-farm we appreciate self-reliant employees with positive attitudes and good communication skills.
Employees will be expected to pick apples on a variety of tree densities ranging from high-density trellis to standard old trees, often which have been unpruned. Comfort working on a ladder is essential, with weights of up to 40lbs in the picking bag.

Hours per week: 30-40+ hours a week depending on weather and daylight.
Wage: The wage starts at $30 per 800lb bin picked. There is also no fee for camping onsite, and depending on the applicant’s commitment, we can consider providing a camper trailer to stay in. Washroom, shower, laundry, and fridge is provided to all employees.
