Pilgrims’ Produce near Armstrong and Vernon is looking for a Fruit Worker for the 2022 season! This established certified organic farm is a fun place to work. It’s peaceful, inspiring, hard-work and rewarding!
ABOUT PILGRIMS’ PRODUCE
Pilgrims’ Produce is a 13.7 acre farm nestled below the beautiful Eagle Rock Cliffs, close to Armstrong and Vernon BC. We are a certified organic mixed farm growing a wide variety of vegetables, as well as fruits, berries and nuts. This farm was established in 1991 with big vision and passion, caring for this little piece of land and for the community around us.
We use a variety of tools to get jobs done, tractors, quads, wheelbarrows and lots of useful hand tools to name a few. We sell our beautiful produce via Farmer’s Markets, our own CSA, U-Pick as well as a few other local outlets.
We grow great food for our local community! We are certified organic.
Alongside our veggie production, our main berry crops are strawberries, raspberries and cultivated saskatoons. Minor berry crops include: haskaps, currants, chokecherries, and mulberries. Our main tree fruit crop is plums (100 trees, 10 varieties). We also have cherries (70) and pears (15).
Desired Qualities
- Must be physically fit (some heavy lifting, crawling, climbing ladders etc)
- Able to work in all kinds of weather
- Experience preferred but not required. On-site training/mentoring will be provided.
- Friendly personality to work with public (U-pick) and other seasonal workers
Job Tasks
Pilgrims’ Produce is looking for a part-time employee who can help us bring in our fruit crops! Starting with strawberries then moving into the other fruits like raspberries, currants, saskatoons, cherries and more! This is a great job for a high school or Uni/College student! Starting ASAP!
Job Details
Job Duration: Approximately June 27th to Mid August (depending on season)
Weekly hours: Approximately 20 hours/week, spread over 3-4 days
Wage: Paid by the pound $1.75/lb for strawberries
