Industry Queens: Leaders with superior products and practices
Close to Home: Upholding the family legacy with a local focus1
Our mission is to share our heritage, for good, hopefully promoting the longevity and health of humans, bees, and the apiculture industry.
We are looking for a self motivated employee who is able to take direction, but also willing to learn and see what needs to be done. We will be working side by side a lot of days and will be relying upon the employee to integrate into our system of work smoothly. There will likely also be times when we will be relying on the employee to work independently. The successful candidate must demonstrate that they can work efficiently and stay focused on the assigned task.
Wild Antho is committed to building capacity in the agricultural sector through supporting youth job programs, and as such all applicants must be under 30 years of age.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the lead beekeeper. There is opportunity to learn about bees and beekeeping, and to work directly with bees in a support position to the lead beekeeper. As experience is gained, and competence and confidence is demonstrated, opportunity exists to work more independently with the bees.
The main duties of the successful candidate will be general labour such as building/fixing equipment, painting, loading/unloading trucks and trailers, helping move and feed hives, setting up and taking down bee yards, taking honey off of hives and honey extraction.
Term: The start date for this position is as soon as possible.
Hours: Hours are variable both daily and seasonally. The successful candidate must be willing to start days early and work long days as is needed. This is a temporary position and we have season’s worth of work to do. We are quite flexible on taking days off here and there, or occasionally leaving early, if it is arranged ahead of time. We definitely have needs we need to meet as a business and we need to work together as a team to meet those needs.
Wage: $15.00 an hour.
