Rebecca’s Garden in Victoria, BC is seeking to hire a part-time Farm Worker for the 2020 season!Â
ABOUT Rebecca’s Garden
Rebecca’s Garden, about 1/2 acre, is a small operation producing certified organic vegetables, berry fruits, flowers, herbs, seeds and preserves. There are two farm locations. The first is nestled in the woods and grows the greens, roots, brassicas, berries, garlic, herbs, flowers and other shade loving crops. The second location is a south facing slope on open terrain and grows the sun lovers like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, melons, squash and beans. The first farm has raised beds and preparation and cultivation is done with hand tools. The second farm is cultivated by tractor at the start of the season then weeding is done with hand tools. Products are sold at a weekly farmers market.
Rebecca’s Garden is certified organic by IOPA (Islands Organic Producers Association). We believe in working with nature. Sharing our bounty and providing the native species with a healthy habit. Many flowers and herbs are planted with bees, butterflies and hummingbirds in mind offering them sustainence in the garden. Seed is saved to maintain some of the wonderful older varieties which are disappearing from the commercial market. The small seed business on the farm offers these choices to the public. The preserves made from farm products is an added bonus to customers at the farmers market. We are always looking for new ideas to keep the farm running smoothly, efficiently and happily.
