Nutrient Dense Farm in Squamish, BC is seeking a Farm Crew!
ABOUT Nutrient Dense Farm
Our small scale farm is located in the heart of the beautiful Upper Squamish Valley about 25 minutes out side of Squamish. Both our plots are surrounded by stunning mountain ranges, with creeks and rivers within a 5 minute walk. We currently farm two plots of leased land, one at the Queen of Peace Monastery and our home plot still in the early development phase of its farming evolution. We have 5 acres of land under vegetable & fruit production and 40 acres we hay in the heat of the summer. We have 70 chickens and hopefully this year we will be getting two cows! The tools we use are two walk behind tractors, a large tractor only used for layering and turning the compost piles and haying. We have a variety of different cultivation tools. We love our Farmers Markets! We sell at our local farmers market and Mount Pleasant in Vancouver, we also do a small CSA and sell some wholesale as well.
Our model promotes, and educates about regenerative agriculture, soil and plant health, environmental stewardship, community development, biodynamic preparations, nutrition, and working with astrological energies to promote a holistic farming experience for all involved!

- Flexibility schedule and hours (weather dependent, we do split shifts – start early, break, work late)

- Physically strong, farming can be extremely strenuous on back, knees, hips and wrists
- Capable of carrying out tasks which require bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift 45 lbs
- Skills and ability to run a walk behind tractor, hand tools, etc.
- Fluent in English
- Preferably at least one season of production based farm experience, or tree planting, landscaping, some type of physical labour job
- Reliable means of transportation.
JOB TASKS
Our Farm Crew participate in all aspects of the farm from washing Rubbermaids, sowing trays, bed prep, harvesting, sorting/washing, packing veg, irrigation, weeding with hand tools & by hand, pruning tomatoes, assisting with moving tunnels, operating walk behind tractors, to customer service and set up at our local farmers market. We are a small scale production farm that requires our crew to hustle in a fast pace environment. We are seeking a crew that has a passion for hard work, love of the land and agriculture.
JOB DETAILS
We are seeking three positions:
Full time lead position
Term: Beginning April to late October. Must be able to commit to the whole season.
Hours per week: 5 days (40 + hours per week)
Wage:$18-$20/ hour (depending on experience)+ 4% vacation pay+ amazing produce (whatever you need for your personal consumption).
Full time position
Term: Beginning Mid April to late October. Must be able to commit to the whole season.
Hours per week: 5 days (40 + hours per week)
Wage: $16.50/ hour (could be more depending on experience)+ 4% vacation pay+ amazing produce (whatever you need for your personal consumption).
Almost full time position
Term: Beginning June to mid October. Must be able to commit to the whole season.
Hours per week: 4 days (32+ hours per week)
Wage: $16.50/hour (could be more depending on experience)+ 4% vacation pay+ amazing produce (whatever you need for your personal consumption).
Accommodation: On farm clean, bright two bedroom fifth wheel on farm, and beautiful rental suite $850/month.
