Zinn Farms in Springstein, Manitoba is seeking a Livestock Farm Hand!
ABOUT Zinn Farms
Zinn Farms is a multi-species livestock farm. We raise heritage pigs, meat chickens, layer chickens, and rabbits. Our animals are raised on pasture with the use of mobile electric fencing. The farm is 20 min away from Winnipeg, Manitoba. All our products are marketed by us directly to our customers, through a delivery service and farmers’ markets.
Animal husbandry and health are paramount at Zinn Farms. Using free-range management, we provide a low-stress and natural environment. We are feeding on farm-milled feed, grass, hay, and organic vegetables. This ensures that the animals are not only healthy, it also creates a nutritious and tasty product. All on farm-milled feeds are free of GMO grains, growth hormones, and antibiotics.
DESIRED QUALITIES
- Applicant must:
- Have self-initiative,
- Have excellent communication skills,
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team with minimum supervision,
- Have a valid driver’s license,
- Be capable of using basic hand tools,
- Be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs from time to time.
JOB TASKS
Main duties will include feeding and maintaining excellent living conditions for the animals, moving pasture fences, and farm yard maintenance. Additional tasks as needed and based on experience.
JOB DETAILS
Term: May to November
Hours per week: 40 hours per week. Working Saturdays is required but we are flexible with scheduling also.
Wage: Hourly rate is $15. Hours are 8am-5pm, and lunch is provided most days.
