FARM JOB: Sechelt, BC – Swiya Farms, Lead Grower

Swiya Farms in Sechelt, BC is seeking a Lead Grower!

ABOUT Swiya Farms

Having started from degraded land covered in invasive species, the farm has come along way since 2022 and is now entering its 4th season of production. In close partnership with Salish Soils, we have used significant compost to bring advance soil building. Although the development has been incredible, it is still always work in progress! Out of a total 6-acres approximately ~2 acres are currently in production. We use a mix of tractor agriculture and hand tools. Our produce is sold with various community partners (shíshálh Nation, One Straw Society, Sechelt Hosptial, School District) as well as direct to consumer sales and donation channels.

We have a substantial strawberry patch, garlic planted, and 2 high-tunnel greenhouses.

Swiya Farms (a project of the Salish Seas Regenerative Farm Society) is a regenerative, community driven demonstration farm on the Sunshine Coast dedicated to restoring soil health, growing nutrient-dense food, and building resilient local food systems. An Indigenous-led not for profit, our mission is to regenerate shíshálh lands through Indigenous stewardship and regenerative farming, offering a living demonstration of reconciliation grounded in land, learning, and relationship. The word swiya means world, lands, birthplace, or “territory” of the shíshálh Nation. The 6-acre farm blends intensive organic food production with forest-garden revitalization, education, and ecological restoration. Joining Swiya Farms means being part of a passionate, impact-driven team shaping the future of regenerative farming, food security, and land stewardship in one of BC’s most beautiful regions.
