Bullock Lake Farm in Salt Spring Island, BC is seeking a Field Worker and a Flower Harvester/Arranger!

ABOUT Bullock Lake Farm

We grow 2.5 acres of vegetables, flowers, berries and herbs on our 24-acre farm on Salt Spring Island, BC. The remaining acreage is split between forest, historic orchard, marshland, and rolling pastures.

Our CSA is the heart of our farm, and most of the produce we grow goes to our member families. We also devote a huge amount of space to flowers, with over 100 varieties of flowers and foliage that we use in our mixed bouquets and arrangements.

We feel very lucky to call one of Salt Spring’s oldest and most beautiful farms home, and we love to share the farm through our CSA programs, workshops, and events.

We are not certified organic but use organic inputs and practices.

We prefer candidates with previous farming experience. All candidates must have a good work ethic, be comfortable with physical labour, and be happy working in the rain! Our farm is fast paced and ever changing; the ability to adapt, work independently as well as part of a team will help you succeed in this role. And a good sense of humour is always a bonus.

This is a grant funded position so the applicant must also meet the following requirements:

  • be between the ages of 15 and 30 at start of employment
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee status

We value a workplace where individual differences are recognized, appreciated, and respected. We are constantly working towards fostering a team that allows each person’s talents and strengths to flourish.
