FARM JOB: Salt Spring Island, BC – Bullock Lake Farm, Field Hand

Bullock Lake Farm in Salt Spring Island, BC is seeking a Field Hand!

ABOUT Bullock Lake Farm

We’re a small diversified organic farm located on Salt Spring Island, BC. We grow mixed vegetables and cut flowers on two acres of intensively managed garden beds surrounded by forest, pasture, and wetlands.

Our production focuses on seasonal vegetables and specialty flowers grown using organic practices. We use a combination of hand tools and small-scale machinery such as a walk-behind tractor, BCS implements, landscape fabric and row cover, and basic field cultivation equipment. Much of the work is done by hand.

The farm is part of a larger creative and educational ecosystem that includes a farmstand, a CSA program, flower production for weddings and events, workshops, and children’s farm programs. Our produce and flowers are sold through our on-farm stand, local customers, CSA members, and occasional wholesale accounts with restaurants and florists.

We farm using organic and ecological practices, focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and seasonal production. Our goal is to grow beautiful, high-quality food and flowers while caring for the land and contributing to a resilient local food system.

We believe small farms play an important role in connecting people to the land and to the seasons. In addition to growing food, the farm hosts educational programs, workshops, and community events that invite people onto the farm to learn and participate.

Our approach combines thoughtful production practices with a welcoming, community-oriented farm environment.
