Saanich Organics in Saanichton, BC is seeking a Strawberry picker / farm hand!

ABOUT Saanich Organics

We are a certified organic farm located in the beautiful Mt Newton Valley. Located on approx. 1 acre, we work mostly by hand to produce seeds and fresh produce (notably strawberries!).

We are certified organic and driven by a strong belief in the value of local produce and regionally adapted seeds.

DESIRED QUALITIES

The ideal candidate is:

  • fast
  • efficient
  • has a strong attention to detail
  • ability to work quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality
  • Ability to work close to the ground for extended hours is essential

POSITION TASKS

The primary task is strawberry picking. Other tasks such as weeding or seed cleaning may be assigned, time permitting.

POSITION DETAILS

Term: Start immediately, work through the end of August or possibly into the beginning of September, depending on berry production.

Hours per week: Two days per week, Monday and Thursday, 8 hour days.

Wage: $18/hr, 8 hours per day (paid lunch), access to staff food bins.
