(FILLED)FARM JOB: Saanich, BC – Agua Dulce Farm, Farm Worker

Agua Dulce Farm in Saanich, BC is seeking a Farm Worker!

ABOUT Agua Dulce Farm

Agua Dulce Farm is a small regenerative farm in the Oldfield Valley on the Saanich Peninsula of Vancouver Island, BC. We cultivate a diverse range of market vegetables, fruits, herbs and berries, as well as sell free-range eggs, honey, and raise alpacas. We focus on small-scale, high-value production that prioritizes unique and unusual crops.

Much of our work is done by hand to maintain soil structure and plant health, we also use standard garden and small-farm equipment.

We sell our produce and value-added goods directly through our Farm Stand (open most weekends and seasonally on weekdays), and via online ordering and distribution through the South Island Farm Hub platform.

Our farming philosophy is rooted in regeneration: mimicking natural systems to rebuild soil organic matter, support biodiversity, and strengthen ecosystem resilience. We use reduced tillage, cover cropping, compost and other organic soil amendments, and ecological crop rotations to keep soil vibrant and productive. Livestock such as chickens and alpacas are integrated respectfully into our system, contributing to nutrient cycling, habitat complexity, and overall farm health.

DESIRED QUALITIES

  • We’re looking for one person who is reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
  • The ideal person has prior experience and/or some formal training in farm or garden work and can work with minimal supervision once oriented.

  • You take pride in doing good work, show respect for people, animals, and the land, and are attentive to detail.
  • A genuine love of animals is important, as is comfort working around chickens, dogs, cats, alpacas and goats. While some training will be provided, this role suits someone who enjoys learning by doing, likes working alone, and appreciates having a variety of tasks rather than repetitive work.
