Vida Farm in Richmond, BC is seeking a Farm Hand!

ABOUT Vida Farm

I am running a small-scale urban farm located in Richmond. I grow more than 100 different vegetables: eighteen different varieties of tomatoes, eight different varieties of eggplants, six different varieties of peppers, and lots of other new vegetables. I sell my vegetables at the VFM and UBC markets.

Tools are available for any assigned tasks.

I am very passionate about growing organic and high-quality food. My goal is to promote local food, food security, food sustainability and offer various vegetables.

DESIRED QUALITIES

No experience is needed.
I just need you to bring your passion and curiosity to learn about growing food.

This job is funded by Canada Summer Jobs to empower young adults.
Farmhand must be 30 years of age or younger and legally entitled to work in Canada.

JOB TASKS

The farmhand works with me. Tasks are very diverse, starting with preparing the land, direct seeding, transplanting, pruning, harvesting, weed management and monitoring plants.

JOB DETAILS

Term: The start date is June first and it is seasonal. I need you till the end of September or the middle of October.

Hours per week: Per week you will work 35 hours or 24 hours.

Wage: $15.65 per hour plus weekly CSA box.
