ABOUT Athiana Acres
Athiana Acres is a 30-acre certified organic, regenerative farm growing a diverse mix of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. We grow over 150 different varieties of crops and are passionate about sharing our harvest with our local community through our on-site market and harvest boxes, as well as supplying our favourite restaurants around the city! We are looking for someone to support our in-house floral team with growing, harvesting and processing flowers. The ideal candidate is an individual with a passion for all things flowers and if desired, the role may provide learning opportunities for flower arranging and supporting with floral orders and workshops. Experience in flower farming is a strong asset but is not required if the candidate has the right mindset and willingness to learn!
REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED SKILLS:
- Physical ability to carry out farm tasks (crouching and bending for long periods, lifting buckets, etc) and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work efficiently independently as well as in a team setting
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to uphold quality standards
- Willingness to learn and self-motivated
- Passion for organic, regenerative flower farming!
POSITION TASKS
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Complete various tasks related to flower production: seeding, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, trellising etc.
- Processing of flowers
- Maintain the farm’s high standards in product quality, cleanliness, organization
POSITION DETAILS
Term: May 1 – Nov 1, 2025 (flexible start). Potential for this position to continue to the following season or transition to permanent.
Hours per week: Work Week: 40 hrs +/- based on seasonal requirements
Work Days: typically Monday-Friday 7am-3pm, will require flexibility for weekends depending on seasonal requirements and floral order calendar
Wage: Hourly, $20.00/hour – may be adjusted, commensurate with experience
