Gentleground Farm in Qualicum Beach, BC, is seeking a Farm Assistant!
ABOUT Gentleground Farm
Gentleground Farm is a market garden currently in its first year/start-up phase. We grow mixed vegetables for sale at the Qualicum Beach Farmer’s Market. The farm is located within biking distance of Qualicum Beach, close to the Qualicum Airport. All crops are hand-harvested without the use of heavy machinery.
It’s my goal to restore carbon in the soil and provide an abundant environment for both humans and animals. My training background is in permaculture, and I would like, in the future to build more permaculture-based practices, though at the moment I am building the basic infrastructure for a market garden. Although we are not organic certified, we use only natural products and do not use pesticides/herbicides on the property. It’s also a goal of the farm to become fossil fuel-free as soon as possible. At present, there is only a borrowed truck and a walk-behind mower that use fossil fuels.

I am looking for a grounded, calm and kind-hearted employee excited about unplugging from their phones/computers and working outdoors with plants. All levels of experience are welcome to apply.
