ABOUT Edwin County Farms

Edwin County Farms is looking to hire a full or part-time farmer/ farm technician to help us continue our regenerative farming project on our 700 acre mixed farm in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Edwin County Farms is located on the north shore of Prince Edward County. We produce certified organic maple syrup, beef, hay, spelt and red-fife wheat in addition to our large market garden where we grow organic vegetables for local markets and the restaurant trade in Prince Edward County.

Edwin County Farms is a family-owned and operated farm in Prince Edward County growing organic grains, raising organic cattle and chickens, producing honey, maple syrup, and seasonal herbs, vegetables and flowers. Our focus is on supplying our families, the local communities, and the best restaurants in Prince Edward County with nutritious farm-grown food while regenerating the land we care for.

Our mission is to contribute to improving the health of the planet and people through regenerative farming practices, land stewardship and creating food in ways that are sustainable, ethical, and health giving.

DESIRED QUALITIES

We are looking for someone with combined experience in managing cattle, hay, and row crop production to help us manage our beef and grain operations and improve the productivity and fertility of our fields. Familiarity with running, maintaining and servicing farm equipment is important and previous experience in regenerative farming, organic farming and managed intensive grazing are additional assets.

JOB TASKS

Overseeing 50+ head of beef cattle including breeding, calving, grazing. Field crop planning and harvesting. Soil fertility improvement. Farm equipment maintenance. Fencing.

JOB DETAILS

Term: Permanent position

Hours per week: Approximately 35-40 hrs per week

Wage: Starting salary $52-55,000 depending on experience. Includes benefits. Accommodation can be arranged.
