ABOUT Laughing Crow Organics
Laughing Crow organics operates on 15 acres of leased land in the traditional and unceded territory of the Lil’Wat and Statimc People. We grow vegetables and flowers for two farmers markets in the sea to sky a 200+ CSA delivery service and two agritourism events, The Pemberton sunflower maze and a U-Pick pumpkin patch. We use tractors, grow mostly on bare ground with overhead irrigation, enjoy mechanical cultivation for weed control. We have 4 poly tunnels for delicate crops like tomatoes and cucumbers. At our scale almost all of our harvest is still done by hand and is one of the seasons biggest jobs. We value efficiency in all our movements, preparedness, follow through, flow, fun and hustle in our day to day operations.

To grow and provide our community with high-quality, healthy, beautiful, vegetables, flowers, and an experience of connection to small-scale Organic agriculture through our CSA, farmers markets, and on-farm experiences.
We aim to farm at a scale of production that allows us to meet our goals of land and water stewardship while also creating meaningful work for ourselves and our employees.

POSITION TASKS
Your role:
As a small, hard-working team of 4 to 5 people, we all participate in nearly every aspect of what it takes to run a 10-acre mixed vegetable farm. This means that throughout the season daily tasks are diverse and may include any combination of:
- Field Cultivation with hand tools
- Field Cultivation with small tractors
- Weeding
- Seed Starting
- Transplanting
- Pruning greenhouse crops
- Harvesting Vegetables and Flowers by Hand
- Stocking The Farm Stand
- Wash & Pack Duties
- Bin washing
- Field Clean-Up
We feel that farm workers are skilled labor, candidates who succeed and thrive, enjoy working in a physically and sometimes mentally demanding role, they enjoy working quickly and value efficiency and quality in all their efforts.
Key Assets
- Previous labor experience, i.e. landscaping, tree planting, carpentry
- Ability to absorb, integrate and execute detailed instructions and feedback.
- Strong observation skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to adapt to changing job conditions and priorities
POSITION DETAILS
Term: May 1-October 31 weather depending the season sometimes ends a bit earlier.
Hours per week: 40 hrs
Wage: Starting wage is $19-20hr. We value the skills and dedication of our team and will reciprocate the value with a wage increase. Fresh vegetables are considered a bonus to the wage
