ABOUT Growing Opportunities Farm Community Co-op
We farm at the picturesque privately-owned Cline/Westwood Farm in South Nanaimo. Established in 1864, this is one of the oldest farms in the Nanaimo region.
We grow a wide variety of crops throughout the growing season including strawberries, celery, celeriac, kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, tomatillos, kale, egg plant, squash, Swiss chard, various culinary herbs and much more.
Growing Opportunities Farm Community Co-op believes in a community-based food system that is equitable, empowering and capable of regenerating the land through hands-on opportunities for people of all skills and abilities.
Our projects celebrate diversity and strive to inspire collaboration through the combined contributions of individuals in our work force, community organizations and a growing base of volunteers.
We follow organic growing practices but are not certified organic.

JOB DETAILS
Term: Starting date is immediately and no later than July 3, 2023. The roles last eight weeks and must be completed no later than September 2, 2023.
Hours per week: 35 hours per week, which may include some hours over the weekend.
Wage: Pay ranges from $17.50 to $18/hour, depending on the position.
