Are you interested to learn about organic pasture raised meat production? Lost Savanna Farm is looking for a farm assistant/intern to join our team starting April 1st for the 2019 season. This is a paid position at $15/hour with housing on the farm available for rent.
About Lost Savanna Farm
Our 73 acre Certified Organic, Certified Demeter farm is devoted to raising animals on pasture to produce the highest quality meat (chicken, pork and beef) and eggs. We sell our meat primarily through a 75 member monthly meat CSA and at the farmers market on Saturdays. The farm is a diverse mix of pasture, silvopasture, forest, permaculture orchard, household garden, ponds and wetlands. We are not hobby farmers. We eat, live, and sleep farming… this is all we do.

DAILY TASKS:
- Daily animal moves on pasture
- Feeding and watering animals
- Orchard and garden maintenance
- Directing and overseeing volunteers
- Planting, harvesting, and processing vegetables
- Assisting with ongoing farm projects
APPRENTICESHIP DETAILS
Our internship is a paid position at $15/hr, intended to give you a living wage while learning the ins and outs of how to operate a fast paced growing organic farm. This internship is a full time seasonal opportunity starting April 1st to October 31st.
START DATE: April 1st to October 31st
HOURS: 30-40 hours/week
ACCOMMODATION
Rooms are available to rent for interns in a mobile home on the property, no food will be provided however interns have access to a full kitchen for cooking your own meals.
