Helen’s Acres Community Farm in Kelowna, British Columbia is seeking a Farm Supervisor!
ABOUT Helen’s Acres Community Farm
We are a 24 acre farm in the heart of Kelowna, BC. We are owned and operated by the KTBC Legacy Foundation, a registered charity and operate on the mandate to help those fighting food insecurity in our region.
All the produce from our farm is directly donated to local social agencies, such as the Central Okanagan Food Bank, the Salivation Army, Kelowna Gospel Mission and others.
The role of the Farm Supervisor is to oversee the planting, maintenance and harvesting of all our crops. The practical outworking of this includes both use of machinery and manual labour, as we balance larger scale commercial crops with crops that can be effectively managed by a volunteer base.
Our production philosophy is driven by our required outcomes, which is high yield for our donation recipients. The Farm Supervisor has a great influence in the farming philosophy and we are always open to new ideas and practices.
