ABOUT Forty4 Farms

We are a 1 acre market garden that grows a wide variety of veggies for 2 farmers markets and a burgeoning CSA program. Most equipment are hand tools along with some that are battery powered. As we’re no-till, there isn’t any tractor work. The crops are split amongst 4 hoop houses, several low tunnels and 5 outdoor blocks

Forty4 Farms has been ‘Certified Naturally Grown’ for the past 3 growing seasons. Along with our no-till principles, we do our best to feed the soil. Which feeds into the native concept of the seven generations principle, a guiding force on the farm. Healthy soil grows delicious veggies.

Experience is an asset but not required. The right attitude matters more.

POSITION TASKS

Seeding, transplanting, and bed preparation
Harvesting (fast-paced, quality-focused)
Washing, packing, and organizing produce
Hoophouse crop work (trellising, pruning, temperature management)
Irrigation setup and monitoring
General farm tasks and seasonal projects
Repetitive bending, lifting, and standing for long periods
Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
Working in heat, cold, rain, and humid hoophouses
Fast-paced harvest days where efficiency matters

POSITION DETAILS

Term: Start date is as soon as possible. You’ll have full time hours all season through the end of October. Part time hours will be available through November and December

Hours per week: 40-50 hours per week

Wage: Starting wage will be $22/h with performance incentives to reach $25/h by August. The right candidate will also receive

Access to all the veggies we grow (within reason of course).
Equipment and PPE stipend
4 paid personal days
Performance Bonus: In addition to hourly pay, this position includes an end-of-season bonus tied to farm performance. The bonus is calculated as 7% of gross farm sales above $100,000, capped at $5,000. The total bonus amount is also dependent on the portion of the season completed—team members who commit to and complete the full season are eligible for the full bonus, with partial payouts considered for shorter durations.
