Homefield Flower Farm in Hemmingford, Quebec is seeking a Flower Farm Team Member!
ABOUT Homefield Flower Farm
Homefield is a flower farm based in Hemmingford, Quebec (60 minutes south of Montreal). We have been responsibly growing cut flowers, to be sold wholesale to florists and direct to pubic at market for the past 6 seasons.
What does responsible mean? It means that though we are not organically certified, we use purely organic methods and zero pesticide (not even certified ones). We care for the soil, as it cares for us. Practical earth first farming, abiding by no one method, but informed by all.
DESIRED QUALITIES
Ideally the candidate should have one full season experience working on a farm. Animal, vegetable or flower doesn’t matter as much. In the least they ought to be interested in agriculture, learning sustainable methods and want to either start your own project or continue to learn and work in “ag”.
They ought to enjoy the rigorous work of farm life, and be a good communicator with patience, empathy and a good sense of humour. Farm work is hard; you need to be able to laugh at yourself and others, as things get loopy mid season.
