Grounded Acres Organic Farm in Gibsons, BC is seeking three Farm Workers!
ABOUT Grounded Acres Organic Farm
Grounded Acres Organic Farm is a small-scale, mixed produce and livestock farm currently growing 2 acres on unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory in Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast of BC. Our farm family includes 100 laying hens, over 50 varieties of vegetables and fruit, resident ravens, and a dynamic ecosystem from trees to soil microbes who are tending this land alongside us. We sell through a weekly farmers’ market, farm stand, box program, and wholesale.
We are a queer-run farm established in 2021 with values rooted in food justice and creating safer spaces in agriculture for folks who identify as 2SLGTBQ+ and BIPOC. Co-owners Mel and Hannah are passionate about supporting our team in bringing their whole selves to the farm, setting and meeting goals related to their journey in food systems work, and mentorship.
Our produce and eggs are certified organic under the BC Certified Organic Program, and we use agricultural practices that regenerate and contribute to the health of our ecosystem. We have 25 years of farming experience between us but haven’t been able to set our roots down somewhere until now, which is why the name “Grounded Acres” means a lot to us. We are committed to stewarding this ground we stand on, humbly listening to its teachings, and actively digging in to what it means to work towards food justice and the dismantling of white supremacy on unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory.
