ABOUT Earthy Organics
Earthy Organics Farm is a small, organic vegetable farm operation located in Fruitvale BC. We grow tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, squash, carrots, beans etc. We run a progressive small farm operation that uses safe, high quality, sustainable practices. We sell to local grocery stores, restaurants and markets.
We are family owned certified organic farm and value our employees like part of our extended family.
DESIRED QUALITIES
- 15-30 years old
- Strong and capable of doing a lot of heavy lifting.
- Accustomed to working mainly on their feet and in any type of weather conditions.
- Ability to work as a team and assist others depending on the task at hand
- Effective communication with colleagues and with management including the ability to develop a productive and cooperative relationship with others.
- A team player with a positive attitude
JOB TASKS
Transplanting, hand weeding, harvesting, hand picking, pruning and washing and processing. Option to help with sales at farmers’ markets in Trail and Nelson. There is an opportunity to work in many aspects of the farm. Work includes early morning shifts, and tasks often vary throughout the day. Knowledge of pest management and nutrient management strategies will be gained and utilized throughout the season. Tasks are sometimes performed alone, but most often we work in groups or pairs.
JOB DETAILS
We are looking for 3 seasonal farm workers.
Term: 9 weeks. Flexible start dates – or July 3- September 1, 2023.
Hours per week: 30 Hours per week
Wage: $17/HR
