Root Renaissance Farm in Errington, BC is seeking a Farm Worker for the 2021 season!
ABOUT Root Renaissance Farm
Our farm, Root Renaissance Farm, is a small scale family run market garden farm. We grow a variety of vegetables on an acre of land. We use organic and regenerative agriculture practices. We sell our products weekly at our local farmers market, at our roadside stand and online through our farm store.
We want our food as free and clean of chemicals, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers as possible. We use composted manures, animal bedding and byproducts to feed our plants. It happens to be a great soil builder. Through the process of composting, we achieve high quality living soil. It’s all about the soil. We are currently not certified organic, however our standards are high, or we wouldn’t feed it to our own family. Chemicals, pesticides and synthetic fertilizers are not used on our farm.
JOB TASKS
The job includes a variety of farming tasks, you’ll never be bored! Harvesting and washing vegetables, loading the farm stand, selling at the farmers market, weeding, wheelbarrowing and much more.
JOB DETAILS
Term: The job is a minimum of 9 weeks, but for the right person, we may offer a permanent job.
Hours per week: The position is 30 hours a week, the days of work are Thursday – Sunday. There is some flexibility with hours and days for the right candidate.
Wage: $15.00-$20.00 per hour. Plus discounted or free food.
Eligibility: The successful candidate must be between 15-30 years old and eligible to work in Canada, as this position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.
