FARM JOB: Denman Island, BC – Two Roads Farm, Farm Crew

Two Roads Farm in Denman Island, BC is seeking a Farm Crew!

ABOUT Two Roads Farm

We are an 11 year old small-scale family farm, thoughtfully growing mixed vegetables and some flowers on approximately 2 acres on a Northern Gulf Island. Our farm is walking distance to the ferry to Vancouver Island and to “downtown” Denman. We use agroecological, human-scale growing practices. We like to work hard and laugh often. We take pride in feeding our community really really good food. We value caring for the land we farm and the people we farm with. We sell direct and wholesale on Denman and to grocers, restaurants and food action non-profits in the Comox Valley.

Since 2015, we have been working thoughtfully to build a small farm that nourishes our family and community, that cares for the land that is farmed and the people who farm it, that integrates positively with surrounding ecosystems, and that contributes to a sustainable future.

“Thoughtfully grown” means that we think about how each decision we make connects to human and environmental wellbeing and the long-term resilience and sustainability of our farm, our communities and our planet.

We believe that good farming requires constant learning.

Starting with our backgrounds in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and forestry, we look to environmental and social standards, including Canadian Organic, Certified Naturally Grown, GAP, and B Corp standards, and research in agroecology, and sustainable farming, forestry and land-use, and equitable, resilient food systems to guide our practices. This approach covers all aspects of our farm, from choosing our suppliers, inputs and packaging, to choices about equipment and farming practices, to our approach to employment and decisions about long-term infrastructure.
