Wild Bee Florals in Courtenay, BC is seeking a Farm Lead!
ABOUT Wild Bee Florals
Wild Bee Florals is a flower farm and creative design studio. We currently operate on a leased growing site on the unceded traditional territory of the K’omoks First Nation (Dove Creek, Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada). Our growing zone is considered to be 8a. We offer our flowers through event floral design, seasonal bouquets, arrangements, flower subscriptions and experiences.
We believe in:
Seasonality
We look forward to each season, as they bring new colours and varieties on a floral journey through the year. From specialty tulips and ranunculus at the start of the growing year to delightful asters, dahlias, and heirloom chrysanthemums during the latter, we aim to add natural sparkle to every arrangement.
Community
We strive to create moments of connection with nature and neighbours. We will be offering place-based learning experiences at our flower farm and will be collaborating with other creatives to bring you and your friends joyful experiences.
Biodiversity
The goal of this floral project is to ensure that clients have access to sustainable floral options while contributing to thoughtful consumerism. We focus on enriching the environment around us by growing flowers without pesticides/herbicides, practicing healthy soil management techniques, ensuring our packaging is compostable/reusable, and establishing pollinator habitat.
Transparency
We are open about our entire process from sowing seeds to planting seedlings, harvesting, designing, and delivery. Our staff gets paid a living wage and we work hard at growing mindfully.
Local, Regenerative agriculture
We design with flowers primarily grown at our farm and supplement only from other BC growers, especially farmers in the Comox Valley – Vancouver Island. This helps reduce the distance that flowers travel on a regular basis, therefore bringing you fresh and vibrant florals that feel good.
Inclusivity
We strive to create spaces where folks feel welcomed and loved.
