Kloverdalen Farm in Courtenay, BC is seeking a Veggie farm assistant for the 2021 season!
ABOUT Kloverdalen Farm
Kloverdalen Farm is a small, diverse, organic vegetable farm. Its located just a few kilometers north of Courtenay in the Comox Valley. We grow over 40 types of veggies as well as some berries, fruit and veggies seedlings. There is just over an acre in production including one large high tunnel.
We sell mainly off-farm through a farm-stand and a CSA program.
A BCS walk-behind tractor is the main piece of machinery. Most farm work is human-powered using a variety of garden carts, wheelbarrows and hand tools. We grow market-garden-style in 30″ by 100′ beds, which are succession planted throughout the season. We’re particularly fond of fall veggies and tend to focus on late-season crops as well as the summer standards.
We are passionate about excellent quality produce and good food. The farm has been certified organic since 2016. We implement minimal tillage techniques, with an emphasis on maintaining healthy soil biology. We strive to grow very nutritious, high quality produce for our community.
This is a family farm, primarily female run (by Kira).
Two young boys live on the property and frequent the garden.
This is a respectful, non-discriminatory workplace.
Covid protocals are taken seriously.
