ABOUT Snowy Mountain Farm
Snowy Mountain Farm is a 25 acre organic farm located 10 minutes south of Cawston, BC. The setting is picturesque and quiet, sitting at the foot of Snowy Mountain and within walking distance of the Similkameen River, great for cooling down on hot summer days. We have 12 acres of mixed orchard and 4 acres of vineyard. We grow a diverse collection of new and heritage varieties of cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, pears, apples, quince, and wine grapes. Most of the work on the farm is done by hand, though we do use a tractor and some tractor implements when necessary. We sell our fruit at Vancouver farmer’s markets and restaurants, as well as provide the fruit for select CSA’s in the lower mainland.
Snowy Mountain Farm has been organically farmed for almost 40 years and currently certified through BC Association of Regenerative Agriculture. We believe in land stewardship, diversity, promoting soil health, and building a balanced ecosystem through regenerative practices, in order to grow delicious and nutritious food. We strive to care for our environment, as well as create a respectful, inclusive and joyful workplace.
DESIRED QUALITIES
Snowy Mountain Farm is looking for two motivated, hard-working and positive individuals to join our small team for the 2026 farming season. In this position, you will work outside, doing various orchard and other farm tasks, under the supervision of a farm manager. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge on organic, regenerative and holistic farming practices, as well as learn orchard and vineyard skills such as pruning, thinning, harvesting/sorting fruit. Many of the work days can be long, with hard physical work. We believe encourage a work environment where learning, work efficiency, respect for co-workers, cooperation and fun is encouraged. While experience in orchard or vineyard work would be helpful, it is not necessary.

POSITION TASKS
Tasks will vary from day to day and change throughout the seasons but will include the following orchard and vineyard tasks:
- Planting
- Pruning
- Blossom thinning
- Shoot thinning
- Fruit Thinning
- Picking
- Operating/checking Irrigation
- Mulch/compost spreading
- Weed whacking
- Sorting fruit
- Lifting heavy boxes
- Loading coolers with fruit
- Packing and loading van for market
POSITION DETAILS
Term: This position is full time from April 1st to Nov 15, 2026. Start date can be somewhat flexible for the right candidate. Potential future opportunities for permanent positions.
Hours per week: 35-40 hours/week
Wage: $20/hr + weekly fruit share to take home.
On farm accommodation included for the right candidate(s).
