ABOUT Klippers Organic Acres

Our farm is located in Cawston, BC (Organic Capital of Canada). We started the farm in November 2001 with 5 acres, and over the past 20 years have expanded to growing/leasing on 60 acres. We have built a commercial kitchen/drying facility, packinghouse, award winning restaurant, cidery, marketplace and cafe, The farm is certified organic ,certified salmon safe, has an environmental farm plan, and has won numerous awards from best direct farm marketing awards to Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year award for BC and all of Canada. 


The successful candidate is task-oriented, flexible, and solutions driven. You must demonstrate leadership skills, and be able to work independently and as a team. You are passionate about growing, self-motivated, non-smoker, good communicator, enjoy selling at markets, and have at least a knowledge of growing experience. Our farm has excellent potential (great growing conditions, excellent infrastructure already built, recognized brand name, loyal customer base) and the right individual will find it an exciting place to learn and grow. 


Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the Packinghouse
    • Pack restaurant orders and CSA shares to ensure standards and work safety standards are being maintained
    • Supervise and train staff to pack with quality and consistency in a highly efficient manner
    • Maintain relationships between stakeholders (chefs/owners/market customers) to meet deliverables and ensure produce is ready to be harvested based on seasonal readiness
    • Pack produce for markets, and prepare market supplies 
    • Track harvest data
    • Organize more than 40 different farm products in preparation for three weekly farmers markets, and four weekly CSA pickups
  • Community Supported Agriculture
    • Collect registration fees, onboard members, cognizant of farm costing when planning out weekly shares
    • Plan out harvest list/packing list weekly
    • Manage CSA member communication/concerns and provided weekly updates/harvest lists via Mailchimp
  • Farmers Market
    • Represent Klippers at Vancouver farmers markets (Riley Park, Trout Lake, West End, Kitsilano, Hastings Park) 
    • Be an approachable, outgoing vendor that provides market visitors with product knowledge 
    • Responsible for set-up, transactions, sampling product, take-down, CSA member support
    • Process market returns following ‘FIFO’ (first in first out)
  • Field and Orchard
    • Active in all aspects of organic food production with the field crew dependent on season and interest, including reviewing records during annual organic inspection
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Frequent standing, walking and climbing stairs
    • Frequent lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, stacking and carrying up to 25kg (50 lbs)


Term: Ideally starting in September

Hours per week: 40 to 45 hours per week, full-time. 

Wage: The base range is $35,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
