Bite Me Organics in Kelowna, BC is hiring an Orchard Worker for the 2019 season!
About Bite Me Organics
Richard and Robyn King and family welcome you to our Certified Organic Farm. We grow several varieties of apples including Gala, Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Ambrosia, Fuji and Pink Lady. Apples are available from late August to the end of October.
The King’s farm has been granted certification through the COABC and PACS as of October 2009. The farm is 11 acres in East Kelowna. Robyn and Richard and family are passionate about growing healthy, nutritious food.
Robyn and Richard have been orchardists for over 30 years. Richard works full time on the farm. He has recently completed his Masters Degree in Sustainable Farming from UBC. Robyn is a recently retired Social worker who runs the retail part of the farm.
Desired Qualifications
Experience driving a tractor would be helpful. Able to work on own.
Job Tasks
The job would include machinery operation and all aspects of orchard work including mowing, thinning, replanting, mending sprinklers and picking starting in August. We are prepared to provide training.
Job Details
Term: May to October
Hours: 24 to 40 per week
Wage: $16.00 per hour and an additional bonus for the person to stay until the end of harvest.
