Posted by Michalina Hunter on January 14, 2022

Wild Antho in Armstrong, B.C. is seeking a Apiary Technician for the 2022 season!

ABOUT Wild Antho

Our farm is located in the beautiful fields and wild lands of the North Okanagan/Shuswap on the unceded, ancestral territories of the Syilx Nation and the Secwepemc Nation. We breed queen bees, produce bee stock, provide pollination services, and produce honey.

Our honey is raw and kept as close to its natural state every step of the way. The honey is unpasteurized to preserve the natural qualities of raw honey, and all of the subtle floral flavours. Our bee yards are primarily located on organic farms, and outlying wild lands. As third generation beekeepers our family believes in and relies on community support.

DESIRED QUALITIES

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player. This position requires the ability to work at length in crouching or bent positions, to lift boxes weighing as much as 100lbs, and to concentrate on a single task for entire work days. As the bee season is variable, so are the jobs on the farm!

JOB TASKS

The main duties of the successful candidate(s) will be helping move and feed hives, setting up and taking down bee yards, catching queens for sale, hive monitoring/splitting/equalizing, disease and pest treatment application, taking honey off of hives and honey extraction, and general labour such as building/fixing equipment, loading/unloading trucks and trailers.
