Join us on Saturday, November 8th, at the Edmonton Expo Centre for a behind-the-scenes tour of one of Canada’s most exciting livestock shows!

Farmfair International is a gathering place for people involved in cattle breeding, offering those who are new to farming a unique chance to meet producers and explore the world of cattle.

With more than 900 animals under one roof, this event is a rare opportunity to connect with the people who care for them, learn about purebred beef breeds, and celebrate the diversity of Alberta’s farming community. Throughout the day, you’ll meet cattle breeders from across Alberta and beyond – from small family farms to larger operations, from young and new farmers to seasoned ranchers.

The cattle barns are at the heart of Farmfair. They’re inviting (and bustling!) spaces to wander, ask questions, and hear directly from farmers about their work and care for the land and animals. Much like a dog show, breeds move through their own competitions during the week, leading up to the exciting Alberta Supreme Championship on Saturday.

What to Expect:

• See a wide range of cattle breeds: Angus, Hereford, Charolais, Simmental, Speckle Park, Salers, Maine Anjou, Gelbvieh, Shorthorn, and many more including rare breeds in the All Other Breeds Show.
• Meet farmers and ask questions: Hear stories, experiences, and advice from exhibitors that is perfect for aspiring farmers or anyone curious about agricultural life.
• Explore and learn: Tour the AgTech and Innovation Alley, EARS Rabbit Show, canine demonstrations, an agricultural marketplace, and interactive farm education stations.
• Exciting competitions: Watch junior cattle shows and the Alberta Supreme Championship, where the top animals are crowned.

Whether you’re passionate about farming, just beginning your journey, or simply curious about agriculture, Farmfair International is a welcoming space to learn, connect, and celebrate the people and animals who nourish our communities.

This event is being co-hosted by Farmfair International and Young Agrarians. The behind the scenes tour will be led by Patty Milligan, who is helping to organize Farmfair International through Explore Edmonton.
