NOV 6, 2025: Manitoba New Entrant Engagement Session

Join us for an engaging dialogue on how we can work together to support Manitoba’s next generation of farmers and farm workers to strengthen our agricultural sector.

Young Agrarians (YA) is inviting labour and new farmer stakeholders in Manitoba’s agricultural sector to attend its second New Entrant Engagement Session. This participatory event will focus on dialogue and strategies for increasing opportunities for young and new farmers in primary agriculture here in Manitoba.

If you or your organization works with farm employees, potential farmers, or farm-based entrepreneurs, this event is an important chance to:

• Connect with others supporting young and new entrants to agriculture
• Share strategies to strengthen recruitment, training, and retention in the sector
• Contribute to policy recommendations for the future of farming in Manitoba

YA will share an update on its policy work, including a presentation of a draft Manitoba New Farmer Policy Brief to be submitted to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide input on the Recommendations section through facilitated discussion. A copy of the draft brief will be sent to registered participants ahead of the event.
