EVENT RECAPS: 2021 Columbia Basin Farm Club & Land Socials

From June to December 2021, Young Agrarians teamed up with four farms and six organizations and educators to present the Columbia Basin Farm Club event series, an on- and off-farm opportunity to learn together. Over 160 producers and farm-curious folks joined us over the course of the ten in-person and online events! We also hosted two Land Socials for the BC Land Matching Program, bringing together 60 people at three different locations!

Monday, July 26 & Sept 25 ~ ONLINE & IN-PERSON

Young Agrarians, Flyway Farm and Forest and the Spilli Station Cafe presented a Virtual Farm Tour and Farm-to-Table Demo and Land Social in Spillimacheen.

Saturday,  August 28 ~ ON-FARM 

Young Agrarians and Stone Meadow Gardens presented an on-farm production season talk about veggie and flower production, including a farm tour in Tarrys.

Saturday, September 11 ~ ON-FARM

Young Agrarians hosted a Land Social, including a guided walking tour and pizza feast, at Jewel Creek Farm outside of Greenwood B.C., minutes from Jewel Lake!

Young Agrarians presented an online “can-a-long” all about food preserving, processing and added value to preserve your garden bounty! Thanks to the West Kootenay EcoSociety for helping promote this event!

Through the B.C. Land Matching Program, Young Agrarians is offering support to farmers looking for land for their farm business and landowners looking for farmers to farm their land. The Columbia Basin Land Matcher will be attending the event to answer any questions about accessing land through this program.
