About City Beet Farm
City Beet Farm is a small-scale urban farm located in the heart of Vancouver. The food we grow is a symbol of community commitment, love for the land, and a break in the status quo.
City Beet Farm is located on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples: the mi ce:p kʷətxʷiləm (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
We are Maddy and Elana, the farmers and faces behind City Beet Farm. All our veggies and flowers are grown by us on yards in the Riley Park/Mount Pleasant area in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Elana is a first generation farmer, graduate from the UBC farm practicum and soil scientist. She has a strong sense of commitment to land and believes that to grow good food and feed communities we must first take great care of the soil. She feels that food is the way we share our love. Like all the best gifts and trusted medicines, it is best fresh and from hands you recognize.
