Calling all prairie vegetable growers: We want your input!

Posted by Dana Penrice on December 13, 2017

The overall goal of this project is to ensure that Canadian vegetable farmers and seed producers have access to high quality seed that are well adapted to their particular region. Samantha Flasha with the Bauta Initiative will be hosting meetings (conference calls) for those who are interested on.

For Alberta farmers the call will be on January 17th, for Saskatchewan Farmers to call will be on January 18th and for Manitoba farmers the call will be on January 19th. During the calls we will identify the most important traits you would like to see improved or developed in the varieties most important to you and your market. There will also be a survey that will be sent to farmers across Canada to gather more specific information for the program.

If you have any questions, or are interested in participating please let Samantha know through e-mail (samantha.flasha@prairieorganicgrain.org) or by phone (587-521-2400)
