Young Agrarians is a collaborative network strategy with a lens on new entrants into ecological agriculture. We were born because of the excellent work that The Greenhorns are doing- and the inspiration from farmers everywhere who are stewarding the land for the next generation. Our role is not to recreate the wheels already turning, but to network up and make visible what is happening on the ground here in Canada. We believe that collaboration and communication is key to growing the next generation of farmers. We are BC and Alberta focused currently, with the hopes to develop more regional partnerships with farmers on the ground, and ecologically focused farm organizations across Canada and beyond. We are excited to announce that Organic Alberta has raised three years of funding to support a Young Agrarians Alberta Coordinator 2016-18. Check out the recently announced Young Agrarians Alberta Apprenticeship Program here.

The network of collaborating organizations and farms is growing!  From farmers hosting events, to data collection for the farmer resource UMAP, to land access programming and business mentorships, Young Agrarians is working with a number of collaborators to grow programming.  Contact us to get involved: The list of fantastic farmers we work with is extensive.
