Whether you’re ready to explore a career in agriculture or are just farm curious, the Young Agrarians Apprenticeship Program (YAAP) is your chance to gain paid, hands-on experience in ecological and regenerative agriculture for 4-8 months in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba!
Through this program, aspiring farmers gain the skills, knowledge, and community connections needed to get a head start in agriculture. Young Agrarians apprenticeships provide you with the opportunity to get paid to live and work alongside a farmer or rancher in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

Our carefully-vetted selection of Host Farms offer mentorships in market gardening, animal husbandry, grain farming, urban farming and so much more. There’s something for everyone!
- BUILD COMMUNITY
Apprentices have the opportunity to network with fellow apprentices, local farmers and agricultural professionals throughout the season at farm tours and orientation sessions.
- CO-CREATE LEARNING GOALS
Host Farms and Apprentices work together to set learning goals for the apprenticeship. By the end of the season, you will come away with valuable skills to prepare you for a future in farming!
- SOAK UP THE OUTDOORS IN BEAUTIFUL LOCALES
Spend the season learning on the land in beautiful settings across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba. Feel the satisfaction of learning to grow food and regenerate the land while connecting with the natural world.
