ABOUT
The Crop Assurance Branch at Ministry of Agriculture & Irrigation is looking for an individual to be an integral part of a dynamic Program Delivery Unit, to assist other Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry Programs streamline application processes and deliver programs to Alberta agriculture producers. The Unit receives applications from Alberta’s agricultural producers to apply for a variety of Programs and services within the department of Agriculture and Irrigation. This position is specifically responsible for the Bee Health Assurance team’s (BHAT) annual registration process, supporting the health of Alberta’s beekeeping industry.

The ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing with external stakeholders (agricultural owner/operators/producers/farmers, members of the agricultural community (specifically beekeepers) the general public and internal stakeholders. The Program Delivery Specialist has the ability to effectively transcribe verbal communications; possess strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, multi-tasking skills and attention to detail. Client and stakeholder interaction is essential to ensure accounts in the systems reflect accurate data while understanding/experience of the beekeeping industry in Alberta.
RESPONSIBILTIES
The Program Delivery Specialist is integral for processing applications under the Beekeeper Registration Program (BEES) collecting, verifying and analyzing information to maintain a high level of data integrity within the Beekeeper Registration system to:
- Independently performs verification and compliance of applications and resolves eligibility issues
- Resolve issues and inquiries from existing and potential registering Beekeepers
- Ensure data standardization and applications are processed under the Alberta Bee Act and subsequent applications
- Communicate respectfully, effectively, and with confidentiality to ensure data standardization
- Contribute to and works within the policy and processes of the Alberta Bee Act and subsequent regulations
- Utilize skills in teamwork, adaptability, problem solving and applied learning
This position is responsible for the administrative, functional user experiences, and operational business processes within the Beekeeper Registration system so that robust data is available for animal disease and emergency response activities:
- Ensure beekeeper status and adherence to bee act and regulations and subsequent benefits Alberta beekeepers
- Utilize data from the Beekeeper registration system to ensure members of the Bee Health Assurance Team have accurate information and records to identify and perform their duties
- Adjudicate new and existing Beekeeper Registration Accounts
- Prepare documentation required by Bee Inspectors for on site inspections
- Support investigations into bee health emergencies
- Liaison between call centers for communications regarding the bee registration system
- Manage Bee central email, phone number and bee app and website
- Develop and deliver the bee survey to Alberta Beekeepers
- Create and update information within the Beekeeper Registration system
- Support Bee Health Assurance Team and Program Delivery Unit operations
POSITION DETAILS
Term: Fulltime/Temporary position (until July 25, 2026)
Hours per week: 36.25 hours per week
Wage: $2,626.89 to $3,448.73 bi-weekly ($68,299 – $89,666/year)
