FARM JOB: Victoria, BC – Umi Nami Farm, Part-time farm worker

Umi Nami Farm in Metchosin (Victoria), BC is seeking a Part-time Farm Worker!

ABOUT Umi Nami Farm

We grow specialty Japanese vegetables and other fruits/vegetables on 2.5 acres of certified organic production year-round. Set in a southern corner of Metchosin, the farm is protected by nearby forests from outside pollution. We use four-wheel and walk-behind power equipment, as well as weed eaters/brush cutters, but most of our work is done with hand tools. We sell primarily through our on-farm box program. We also sell through the Sea Bluff farm stand, Fujiya grocery, Uchida Eatery, Wild Mountain and Tama Organic Life. We are a team of 8, with 2 full-time managers and 6 part-time farm workers. Most of our staff are bilingual in Japanese and English, and we enjoy a bicultural, bilingual work environment.

  • a quiet and friendly workspace: no earbuds/audio devices while we’re working together
  • our priority is to sell vegetables to local people making their meals at home. We value the direct connection this provides

  • we always keep on learning
