Boreal Ranch in Lac Du Bonnet, MB is seeking a Lead Pork Producer (Forest-Raised)!
ABOUT Boreal Ranch
Boreal Ranch is a diversified, regeneratively focused farm located within the boreal forest, integrating food production, ecological stewardship, and agritourism. Current production includes pasture-raised eggs and poultry, seasonal market garden crops, culinary and medicinal herbs, and greenhouse-grown plants, with planned expansion into forest-raised pork and additional livestock enterprises. The ranch encompasses mixed boreal forest and open pasture suited to rotational grazing, silvopasture, and reforestation. Products are sold primarily through direct-to-consumer channels such as on-farm sales, subscriptions, special events, and farm-to-table experiences, supported by a strong brand and community engagement.
Boreal Ranch operates according to regenerative and ecological farming principles, prioritizing soil health, animal welfare, and long-term land stewardship over maximum short-term output. While the farm is not certified organic, we follow practices that minimize chemical inputs, emphasize natural systems, and support biodiversity. Our vision is to produce high-quality food in a way that restores the land, supports resilient rural livelihoods, and connects people directly to where their food comes from through transparency, education, and on-farm experiences.

DESIRED QUALITIES
- We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in raising pigs in a forest- or pasture-based system, who values animal welfare, land stewardship, and practical problem-solving.

Clear communication, respect for animals, and alignment with our values of transparency, quality, and ecological responsibility are essential.
